From the Chairperson’s deskMuharram Mubarak 1446لسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ In the next few days we will welcome the Islamic New Year 1446.We express our gratitude to Allah SWT for having blessed us to witness another sacred month and bringing us closer to Allah SWT.As we embark on increasing our spirituality; conducting voluntary fasting; offering charity and reflecting on the lessons of the martyrdom of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW’s grandson Hassan AS and his family in Karbala we are witnessing live the incessant genocide in Gaza and Rafah in Palestine.The world remains in turmoil and we are called upon to fight the injustices perpetrated in Palestine and support the homeless and orphans surviving this genocide. It is time for more tangible action now as we fight for social justice!In our humble efforts we have contributed over a hundred thousand rand last year to Palestine and once again we have pledged another one hundred thousand rand as we begin our Islamic New Year.We appreciate the support of our members and donors for their generosity and commitment. Through the support from our donors we have also funded 35 students with bursaries for the 2024 academic year. May Allah grant them success in their studies.We distributed Food Hampers to deserving beneficiaries in Ramadan and Eid ul Adha. We will once again distribute food hampers during the month of Muharram Insha’Allah. May Allah reward you all abundantly.Finally we are planning our annual Meelad un Nabie program in the last week of September 2024 Insha’Allah.
