Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. We convey our deepest condolences and pray that Allah grants the deceased Jannatul Firdaus, Ameen.

COVID-19

Over the past few weeks, Dr Nisaar Korowlay has been providing updates on health protocols and the status on the ground, particularly in Cape Town. We urge you to read his invaluable tips and guidelines.

With the easing of the lockdown to Level 3 this week, more businesses have opened, and more employees are at work and using public transport. This will certainly increase the infection rate.

The traditional health facilities are near to full capacity, if not at full capacity already.

The imminent opening of learning institutions and religious institutions will add further pressure on the conditions on the ground so we can only appeal to you to remain vigilant and increase your compliance with health regulations.

We strongly recommend that everyone should heighten their application of hygienic protocols and apply stricter lockdown protocols than they have been doing over the past 10 weeks; otherwise we will undo all the positive outcomes of our sacrifices and nullify the hardships that we have endured. We ask Allah to Protect us, In Shaa Allah.

The behavioural changes to our lifestyle are imperative. There is no other alternative and no turning back to pre-lockdown lifestyle as yet. This is the reality and new norm. We have to adapt accordingly.

Humanity calls on us to respect others and not only ourselves and show consideration and care for our elderly and vulnerable citizens.

Each individual has the responsibility to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus and/or spreading the virus by wearing cloth masks and maintaining physical distancing.

The power of prayer remains the most powerful tool.
Stay Home, Stay Safe, Stay Healthy.

Yours Sincerely

Mohamed Salie SC
