COVID-19 Update 4

The Western Cape is currently the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in South Africa.

For the week 30 March to 6 April during the level 5 lockdown 406 positive cases were identified.

However 2779 positive cases were reported for the week of 28 April to 5 May 2020.

The marked increases in positive cases are due to extensive community screening campaign and targeted testing.

The reality is that COVID 19 is prevalent in our community.

It is therefore incumbent on all members of society to take responsibility to contain the spread of infection to others to the best of their ability.

Wear your masks and wash your hands as frequently as possible and maintain physical distancing at all times.
