Message from JHESS President Update 5

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
نحمده ونصلي ونسلّم على رسوله الكريم

Dear Member

Alhamdullilah we experienced a different Ramadan and Eid this year but managed to uphold many of the traditions as best as possible.

We brought huge joy to our First Ramadan Award recipients, presenting them with a certificate and gift voucher. (See pictures below).

I also wish to reiterate our heartfelt appreciation to all our donors, the Food Parcel distribution team and our partners for bringing so much happiness to our over 700 beneficiary recipients. Glory unto Allah.

One day after Eid, we were saddened by the loss of Marhoom Abdus Samad Abdurahman Sonday. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. We convey our condolences to the Sonday family. May Allah grant the deceased Jannatul Firdaus, Ameen.

Cape Town remains the epicentre of the Coronavirus which remains a huge concern for us and, with the proposed downgrade to Level 3 as from 1 June 2020, we call on all our members, families and friends to exercise greater vigilance as the risk of exposure will increase and more infections will follow suit.

Each individual has a responsibility to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus and/or spreading the virus by wearing cloth masks and maintaining physical distancing.

We urge each one to adapt to the behavioural changes as recommended by the World Health Organisation so that we can prevent the further spread of this deadly virus and save lives.

For the first time in our Society’s history, we will be convening our Annual General Meeting virtually. The team is preparing to send out notices and finalising the AGM date soon. We look forward to your participation.

Finally, we pray that Allah protects us and that we also act responsibly by protecting ourselves and everyone else by adhering to the health protocols.

Our flowers of the future

Food Parcels of Happiness

Stay Home, Stay Safe, Stay Healthy.
Yours Sincerely
